Hi there,

You can go to your diadem readme file and check it. If you don't have it:

1. Go to www.ni.com/support

2. Go to drivers and updates and select diadem version 9.0

3. From there you can download diadem software and every link also includes the readme file. In it you will see the minimum requirements needed.

For Diadem 9.0 SP1 (9.0.1) these are the minimum requirements:

===================
System requirements

or IV) or AMD (Athlon, K6 or K7) processor

- Hard disk memory: at least 190 MB free space; at least 450 MB
free space during installation

- Graphics board: color depth at least 16 bit (High Color);
recommended 24 or 32 bit (True Color) and a screen resolution of
1024 x 768 or higher

Operating systems
-----------------
- Windows 98 SE
- Windows ME
- Windows NT 4, Service Pack 6 or later
- Windows 2000, Service Pack 3 or later

Of course a better PC will optimize the SW.

Can a quad-core or higher help to calculate the datas faster?

I´ve tried it on a workstation with 2 quad-cores to calculate the reduction of approx. 10GB of Datas.

And it seems, that only one core a time was calculating while the others where doing nothing

kind regards

Hi Pillkahn-TZ,

To get a better performance it is surly a good idea to use an up-to-date hardware and operating system. But if you then stay with DIAdem 9 the performance benefit is not as expected. Please keep in mind that DIAdem 9 is 10 years old software. In these 10 years we significantly increased the internal operation performance of DIAdem. In addition it was – of course – not possible in times of DIAdem 9 to test it on W7-64 which came out in the end of 2009. So there is a real good chance that DIAdem 9 will not work on W7.
In the end it makes sense to update you hardware and the OS to get a better performance – but it is also absolute necessary to update DIAdem.

Greetings
Walter
