Trying to plot 3D contour plots with time formatting error!!!

I plot time, mass flow, and fuel rate on a 3D axis system with grid in all planes and the 3D Curve line type it defaults is ok, but I need to see this in a 3D contour plot which is actually called a Characteristic Diagram in DIAdem. When I select this, it tries to plot in 3D Contour, but returns the following error.."Discrepancy between time format in axis layout and header of channel." My excel file the data comes from in in format hh:mm:ss:xxx and I cant figure out why DIAdem wont recognize this and plot. Please help.
