different input file formats to diadem

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

Am new to this diadem area. I read that DIAdem takes input from .dat, .mme, .xls, and .iso.

Can anyone make me understand what for these different input files are used and how they differ from each other? Which file type is more efficient to use ?

Hi Rash.patel,

They're INPUT files, so if you have that file type on your hard drive, you can load it into DIAdem.  If you have a choice of file formats, NI recommends either TDM/TDX or TDMS.  Of the list you provided, the old DIAdem *.dat file format is preferable, because it is the only one in the list that stores bulk data in binary files, which makes it much faster to read and write.

What type of data files do you want to load into DIAdem to analyze and report?

Hi Brad Turpin,

Thanks for your reply. I understood what .dat files mean. But i have a file in .dat which am sending it in attachment, but it is not in binary as you said. Let me know how to process this.  (As i could not attach it in original format, I have copied it in notepad and sending)

Also I want to have a brief idea about what are .mme file and .iso files. Can you help me in understanding this?

Thank you,

Rash

Hi Rash.patel,

a "DAT file" consists of a textual header file (the one you posted) and one or more binary files (in your case probably named "C100225-1 CHEST.R32").

Hi Stefan,

You are correct. There is a file named   C100225-1 CHEST.R32" along with it. Thank you.

Hello Rash.patel,

The ISO MME standard (Multimedia Data Exchange Format for Impact Tests ISO-TS 13499) describes a data exchange format with coded measurement point designators.

Information about all the formats that you have asked about is actually available in the DIAdem help. Have you tried it out? Incase you are yet to get started on DIAdem, I would suggest you try it... You can download the evaluation version here

Cheers!

Jayanth
