HSE Open Source Survey 2022

Dear DQMH friends,

at HSE, we are big believers in Inner Source (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inner_source) and apply it to our customer projects. By opening up our code as open source to the public and sharing it for free we make sure we stay on top of the tools and processes needed for that, and we pay back to the awesome LabVIEW community. You can browse our Open Source offerings at https://code.hampel-soft.com.

We constantly work to give back to the community and widen our offerings. But we need your help! Please let us know how you use our open source LabVIEW and DQMH code, by taking this quick (promise!) survey:

https://bit.ly/HSE-OS-Survey-2022

This survey is targeted at those of you who use our tools. But even if you don't use any HSE offerings, we have some questions for you. We want to hear your feedback so we can keep improving our offerings and our logistics.

Thank you in advance!!

Joerg

Thank you for taking the time to reply here, and for looking into our tools and libraries. We're continually working on adding documentation, tools like wizards etc... Is there anything specific that is missing for you, that you can point us to?

It is a littly bit tricky to get used to the DQMH framework as well as the HSE extensions. For DQMH there are some nice Youtube tutorials like this series from Tom McQuillan. For the HSE extensions you should at least set up one project step by step like described in the wiki. Or better book one day of consulting with Joerg 📣

Creating good documentation and tutorial videos is hard work, and it's very difficult for us to do that on the side for our open source projects.

For the HSE Application Template, we do have the following:

We're currently also working on integrating our HSE Application Template into LabVIEW's project template wizard which should make it very simple to start a new project based on our HSE Application Template.
