6254 Counter Operation

Hi,
As i understand, NI-6254 (M-Series) has 2 General Purpose Counters on it...

Question is, Can i use these two counters at the same time?? for example, i'm using the Counter0 for generating a square wave, and i want to use the Counter1 to look for a transition on other line and start measuring the semi-period.

Can it be done?

Hi rkpat,

Yes, you can operate both conters at the same time. You will need to set up two different counter tasks (one for each counter) and start them both. However, some coutner functions actually require the use of both counters. It looks like your application will only require one counter for each operation but this is something to be aware of.
