Triggering on the 6509

I have a 6509 (DIO) plugged into a PXI chassis with a 6289 (M-series). I want to trigger the a digital output operation on the 6509 using one of the signals from the M-series card (e.g. ao/StartTrigger - one of the output lines of the 6509 is connected to a separate card used to timestamp events from multiple sources - I want to route all of the timestamping pulses from the chassis containing the 6509 and the M-series card through this particular line on the 6509). Is triggering supported on the 6509 at all? Is RTSI or some other backplane signal routing supported in any way? The documentation I've found doesn't mention these features at all (to either confirm or deny their implementation in the 6509, although I suppose that would indicate that they are not supported). If I can't trigger events, is there some other hack I can use to output a signal on the 6509 with precise timing, based upon an output or internal state on the aforementioned M-series card? I've considered routing a signal externally from the M-series card to one of the 6509's inputs and then using change detection to generate an interrupt, but so far as I can tell this interrupt is processed in software (which will introduce substantial and inconsistent additional delay). Since the 6509 and the M-series card are on the same chassis (and connected to the same computer) I would probably get more precise timing by simply starting events on the two cards one right after the other.

Thanks,
Jason
