Can I generate PWM signal using Digital output of my PCI6024 card?

I want to generate 4 PWMs using my PCI6024 card. I do have only 2 analog outputs and 2 counters to output my signal that's why I want to use digital out of my card for PWM. How can I do that? If there is any example then please let me guide that way.

Hi rajen-

It sounds like you're trying to extend PWM capabilities to the digital outputs of your E Series card. In order to use PWM you need precisely timed hardware operations so that you can accurately time the widths and durations of your pulses.

This functionality will not be easy to accomplish with your card because it does not feature hardware-timed digital output capabilities. If you would like to use digital outputs for precise hardware-timed digital operations you will need to upgrade to an M Series card with correlated digital I/O.

I hope this helps!

Hi Tom,
Thank you very much for early reply.
I do have second card that is real time DAQ (PCI 7041) will that work for my application?

Hi Rajen-

I'm not particularly familiar with the RT series cards such as your PCI-7041. The counters on the card should work well for PWM applications, but I would suggest posting your original question regarding the possibility of using digital lines with the PCI-7041 in the Real-Time Measurement and Control forum.

Thanks again-
