Can I use PCI-6518 with MAX 2.2?

I am attempting to configure an application to use a PCI 6518 Digital I/O Board for use under Measurement and Automation Explorer 2.2, but the driver .inf does not appear to be present with this version.  My system is connected to a Teradyne Spectrum ICT, which prevents me from upgrading to newer MAX (which I have proven works).

The main requirement for the PCI-6518 is what version of the NI-DAQmx driver you have.  The PCI-6518 requires NI-DAQmx 7.3 or later.  The Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) software is bundled with the installation of the NI-DAQmx driver, and the earliest version of MAX that you can use with NI-DAQmx 7.3 is NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 3.1.  So ultimately, you won't be able to use the PCI-6518 in MAX 2.2.

How does the Teradyne Spectrum ICT prevent you from upgrading to a newer version of MAX?  Are you using a GPIB cards to communicate to that instrument?  If so, you should be able to just upgrade your GPIB drivers for the newer version of MAX.

When I upgrade to later versions of DAQmx, the ResourceManager seems to become unstable.  The Teradyne uses a PCI MXI card to communicate to the test instrument.  I tried updating to VXI 3.3 and 3.5, but I cannot get the Resource Manager to run.  On the bright side, I can use the 6518 then.

Upgrading DAQmx probably upgraded your MAX version too; there's a known issue with MAX 4.0 and VXI 3.3.1 or 3.5 when you try to run Resman outside MAX.
You don't mention what problems you are having exactly, but I assume it's similar to the one mentioned in this KB. The solution in the KB should fix the Resman issue. Hope this helps. Thanks!
