DIO using NI-6289 (Configuration on Linux?)

I have a NI PCI-6289 board and intend to use it for DIO. The spec. says that there are 48 DIO channels with 32 clocked lines. Would someone point me to some documentation which would help me to understand the configuration? I intend to use it on a Linux machine.
