I have a PCIe-6320. I have counters 0, 1 and 2 being used to as a counter input using the src lines. I need a digital out to turn on a relay (3 to 5 VDC should do it). Should I connect it to a line that is a SRC, Gate, or Aux? Where can I read more about Src gates and aux? Can port 3 handle a digital out?

Never mind. I had the pinout board unplugged.
I would still appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction in learning about the differences between source, gate, and aux counters.

There is a fairly handy guide to using counter I/O in LabVIEW help. The help document is called "Counter Parts in NI-DAQmx" if you search for it in help it should shed some light on how our DAQ counters work.
