FPGA : a long time to download VI

Hello,
I want to dowload a FPGA VI to my PCI 7831R device.
To compile the VI, it takes 25 minutes. No error is found. When I want to dowload it to my Device, it is written "dowload progress" but nothing progress. Nothing else happened even if I wait 30 minutes or more.
I can't download any VI to my device.
Where is the problem?

Hello,

Well it is difficult to answer you with these information.
Could you tell me if :
1. you see any "RIO Devices" in MAX.
2. you can launch "Download VI or Setup PCI-7931R" in the Windows Start Menu "... >> National Instruments >> NI-RIO >> PCI-7831R".
I will be able to help you more.

Regards.

Hello Benjamin,

1 . I see RIO Device in Max (RIO0 : INSTR). My device is FPGA ( PCI-7831R).
But I see my device too in Max in PXI System (unidentified).

2 . I can launch "Download VI or Setup PCI-7931R" in the Windows Start Menu "... >> National Instruments >> NI-RIO >> PCI-7831R".
But when I launch it, I choose the VI and the same problem is on. A message is "download progress" but nothing else.

Hi Walla,

Did you already try to reinstall the drivers? If you didn't, it would be nice to try it.
To reinstall the NI-RIO drivers :
1. Uninstall NI-RIO drivers from the "Add/Remove Softwares",
2. Power off your computer and unplug your PCI-7831R,
3. Power on your PC and reinstall the last NI-RIO drivers,
4. Power off you computer and plug in your board again,
5. Power on you computer and try to download a VI on the board,
If you have the opportunity to test your PCI-7831R in another PC, try to test it.

I hope this will help you to solve your problem. If it doesn't, please provide me the versions of: the operating system, the NI-RIO drivers, LabVIEW and the LabVIEW FPGA module.

Best regards,

Benjamin

I try but I have the same problem.
I think, perhaps it's a problem of memory. I don't have got 512 M of RAM.

Did you try to download a small example?
You can find examples with the "NI Example Finder" tool from the LabVIEW menu "Help >> Find Examples...". Just go to the "Toolkits and Modules >> FPGA" folder.
Please let me know if the test is successful or not.

Best regards.

I try but I have the same problem. I try to add memory but then, with my FPGA device, I can't start my computer.
I can start it with less memory (RAM) but with 512 M and my FPGA device, I can't start it.
I have to remove the FPGA device to start my computer with 512 M of RAM.
With less memory, I can't download any program.
