Attached are a couple of VIs that might help with SPI.  The first is a utility to help you understand the various SPI implementation and to be able to visualize the clock, data, and strobe (enable) on a digital waveform graph.  Because the VI is part of a library, I also included the .lvlib file.  The second is a simple dynamic generation VI developed from from an example downloaded from NI.

FYI to all, NI Systems Engineering has released libraries for building hardware-timed protocol waveforms that can be generated/acquired using clocked DIO hardware.  The I2C library requires open-collector output, which is only supported on the 6534 and 655x. SPI and JTAG can be used with M-series, 653x, 654x, and 655x.
