N Samples static digital inputs

Solved!
Go to solution

Is there a way to set the sample rate when acquiring N samples from a static digital input? I'm using a USB-6216 daq but the only timing option is On Demand.  It appears that the daq samples randomly I use acquire N samples.  My goal is to have some level of sychronization between my analog and digital input data when sampling at 500 Hz.

Hi UpNSmoke,

Unfortunately, the 6216 can only perform software-timed DIO. If you're using Windows or another non deterministic operating system, you won't be able to achieve very tight synchronization (or high sampling rates). If you want both your analog and digital input tasks to be hardware synchronized, I would recommend looking at something from the 622x, 625x, or even better, the new X-Series line.

Hope this helps,

Thanks for the advice Sean!

I was hoping there would be some way to get around software-timed issues using N sample acquisition.  Looks like I'll have to live with what I've got.
