NI PCI-6533 (DIO-32HS) buffer error

Hi all,

Posting this question for a colleague...  We have an NI-PC-6533 (DIO-32HS) card that is throwing an intermittent error.  Essentially, the problem is identical to the buffer underflow described in the thread at:

Unfortunately, no resolution was posted in that thread.  Things that we know so far:

-swapping components shows the problem follows the card.
-the card is stamped 2004, other cards that do not show the behavior are stamped 2006.

Does anyone have any light to shed on this problem?

Thanks for contacting National Instruments.  Has this problem just recently appeared or has it always given this error?  If it turns out to be an RMA you can go http://sine.ni.com/apps/we/niae_asc.main to get an SR and we can facilitate an RMA for you and troubleshoot over the phone.

The reply from my colleague:

This particular PCI-6533 card has been an intermittent problem since the system it is in was built and first debugged 2 to 3 months ago.  I do not know the history of the failing board as I did not assemble the system it is used in.  There are several systems using the same software that are not a problem

That's good information.  I am curious if the board presents the same problem in a working system.  That would ensure that it is the board and not the system.  Again you can visit the webpage above and create a Service Request and we can facilitate an RMA.  I would highly reccomend you try it another PC, if you have already done so, please feel free to create the SR and call in.
