PCI DIO-96 upgrade of DAQ software

I have attempted to update a customer's system (Win XP SP2) and we were switching from 7.4.2 Traditional to the 9.0.2 DAQmx drivers.

First removed card then uninstalled the drivers

Restarted and installed the mx drivers

Installed card

Windows is bringing up the add hardware wizard for a "PCI Device" but never considers it as the DIO-96.  Not sure where the INF for it is so could not try that method.

I am looking for a resolution that lets the device be installed.

This device should be detected.  Are you using a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows XP?  I would recommend trying to install the newest version of DAQmx 9.3, which can be found here

To install the newest version, just run the setup.  It will uninstall the 9.0.2 drivers automatically.

Managed to figure out that for some reason the system was not checking the windows\inf folder when trying to add new hardware. Potentially the anti-virus (TrendMicro) was interfering with the install/uninstall process My steps were to do the following: Disable the Anti-virus Clean install the NI-DAQ Show hidden files/folders in explorer Insert card manually point to the windows\inf folder when add new hardware wizard activated Some strange things on this system as a whole, for example the "look for drivers on windows update" for the new hardware wizard was somehow disabled in the registry. Thank you for your attempt Che T.

Hi Tribmos,

I'm glad that you were able to resolve that.  I don't know what could have caused Windows to not check that folder.  The anti-virus software could have potentially prevented those inf files from installing.  That, and running it in Administrator mode, which I had forgotten to mention.  Anyways, thank you for following up on this and giving detailed instructions on how to fix it.  This post will be a very helpful reference for others experiencing this problem.
