Problem of power in using 2 DAQ-Pad's 6508

i have a problem with power while using 2 DAQPad's 6508(not always). m using external power supplies for both the DAQPad's also. this problem is only coming for device 2, never comes for the first device. The device configuration LED of device2 starts blinking in 3 blink pattern (which as per documents mean power supply failure). Sometimes if i switch off the deivce and power it on again thn it starts working fine.
i have even tried switching the power supplies of the two devices to see if the problem is with the supply or the device but even thn device1 works fine n same problem persist for device2.
I am unable to understand this problem, so i wud really appreciate some help in this regard.

Huzach,

3 blinks indicates that the DAQPad is trying to draw too much current from the USB. This indicates that either your external power supply is bad, or that there is some damage to the power supply connector. Are you sure that the device is operating off of external power? Is the error somehow related to something changing in the hardware to which you are connected. Perhaps the DAQPad is always running off of USB power and only overloads it at certain times.

Hope this helps,

Nothing seems to be wrong with the power supply as i hv checked the voltages of the supply.
i have also uninstalled DAQmx and now just hv DAQ7.4 (legacy) driver on my system as was suggested in another thread related to DAQ-PAD 6508 Initializiation but it has not solved my problem. I am still getting error with code10401 when i start my application along with the device blinks(first 2 blinks n thn 3 blink pattern afterwards).
this problem does not occur always, sometimes if i switch off thn powering it on again solves the problem.
i would reallt appreciate some help.
thanks

Huzach,

It sounds as if this device may be in need of repair. Please call 1-800-IEEE-488 to speak with someone about RMA.

well thanks alot u all for ur kind help.

I have figured out the problem, actually just one device(device 2) was giving the problem whether i was using it alone or  with some other DAQPad (device1). the problem i was facing was error 10401 with 3 blinks on that device2 but device1 worked fine all along. when i chekced thouroughly i found out that pin 49(+5V) and pin50 (GND) of the I/O Connector through which i was connecting device2 was short, thats why i was getting those power failure blinks. i have solved that problem now, n thankfully the device did not get damaged n its working perfectly fine now :).

so once again thanks alot for ur help.
