Hello homerlee,
The pinouts for using an SCB-68 depend on what DAQ device you are using it with. You can easily find the pinout diagram, which tells you what screw terminal number corresponds to the different lines on your device by finding your device in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) under Devices and Interfaces, right-clicking on your device, and selecting 'Device Pinouts'. This information can also be found in the User Manual for your DAQ device. The following KB also contains some helpful quick reference labels specific to the arrangement of screw terminals on the SCB-68.
KB 3O0DOQRM: Where can I Find SCB-68 Quick Reference Labels for Various Cards? The encoder you referenced is an absolute encoder, and the counter circuitry on multifunction DAQ cards only have built in support for measuring incremental (quadrature) encoders. However
the NI-7344 FlexMotion board can be used to read data from an absolute encoder, as discussed in the following tutorial:
DZ Tutorial: Absolute Encoders and NI ProductsI hope this helps,
