This problem has been resolved but I thought I would post it as an FYI.
I'm setting up a relatively simple system using 2 USB-6525's. The computer is a "Netbook" with the Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor running Windows XP.
The problem was the driver installation wizard could not find the driver for the USB-6525 no matter which method I chose. Searching the web was unsuccessful, and directing the wizard to the driver disk was unsuccessful. I downloaded and ran the installer for NI-DAQmx 8.9.5 which is the driver it was shipped with and the driver ni.com points to when searching on USB-6525. I directed the wizard to the folder it was installed in. No success.
I plugged in a different USB device, USB-5133 (O-Scope) and the wizard had no problem finding the driver. Finally, I downloaded and installed the latest (32-bit) driver software NI_DAQmx 9.0 and that solved the problem.
What's up with that? Is this a Netbook thing or is there something else going on?
Perhaps an NI engineer can speak to this.

Hi pmac-
It sounds like a corrupt installation of the original NI-DAQmx driver. The USB-5133 was detected by NI-SCOPE, not NI-DAQmx. Once you uninstalled and reinstalled DAQmx, everything was fine, which probably indicates that something went wrong with the installation.
Glad to hear you got it up and running. Thanks for posting and have a great day!

I did re-install 8.9.5 several times. But with that said, when I searched the discussion forum, I didn't find any posts with a similar problem which surprised me because I can't be the first person to couple a usb-6525 with a netbook. So, it certainly could have been something unique to my situation like a corrupted file that got wiped out with the installation of the new revision.
Thanks for responding.
