Using Port C I/O lines in handshaking mode

I am trying to use the spare I/O lines of port C as unstrobed output lines on a PXI6508, while using port A and B for block read inputs. The manual says it is possible, but I read that NI-DAQ 6.9 did not support that function. I have upgraded to NI-DAQ 7 but still do not seem to be able to to it. Is there an easy solution?

This is technically possible in that the 8255 chip supports it, but this functionality is not supported through the NI-DAQ driver. 7.0 or previous. I don't believe there are any plans to add support for it either. The easiest thing is just to add another DIO board to your system. The only other route involves register-level programming which is certainly not easy! We also do not support register-level programming. There is only documentation which you can look into if you like. See the Measurement Hardware DDK.

Thank you Russell.
Your suggestion of using another DIO board is probably the easiest solution.
