Windows Version Compatibility

When I build a standalone executable under LabView 7.1 in Windows XP, will the executable be compatible with other versions of Windows? If so, which ones? Are there any non-XP versions of Windows (95, 98, 2000, NT)that are known not to be compatible with products built under LabView 7.1?

Thanks

Hi Neil,

If you create your LabVIEW executable using version 7.1, the target computers will need the LabVIEW 7.1 runtime engine to use the executable. This runtime engine can be bundled into an installer with your executable for distribution. LabVIEW 7.1 and its runtime engine are only supported in Windows 2000, XP and NT.

The LabVIEW 7.0 runtime engine will run on Windows 2000, 98, XP, ME, and NT. If you wish to use then then you will need to save your 7.1 VI into 7.0 and create the executable in LabVIEW 7.0

Thanks,
Sal
