HP34401A DMM problem

I'm using HP34401A DMMs for voltage measurements, while I have to run a Labview program for Oxford instruments temperature controller at the same time. However, the VI for DMM does not work whenever I run the VI for temperature controller. The error message implies that it comes when it is waiting for SRQ. The Oxford machines are connected to PC via GPIB cable through a master gateway machine. Evidently, this is a communication problem, but I don't see any problem with Keithley DMMs under the same situation. Anybody has similar problems with HP34401A DMMs?

Thanks for contacting National Instruments. I have question to clarify your issue: What is the exact error message, including error number, that you receive? Also where does the error occur? Do you have a GPIB Wait or GPIB Wait for RQS function in your VIs? Do the Keithely DMMs work with the exact same VI? According to Serial Polling and SRQ Servicing with NI-488.2 Software and LabVIEW: "This [GPIB Wait for SRQ] function will wait until either the RQS bit is asserted or the time-out is exceeded."

Please let me know what functions are being used in which VI so I can narrow down the issue better.
