NaN

I have a PXI4071 DMM.  When I use the DAQmX vis (shipped w LV 8.5) and measure an open resistance I get "NaN".  When I use the "DMM Soft Front Panel" I get "OVLD".  Is it safe to assume NaN is the same as OVLD or an open or infinte??

Hi Mr. Eastwood,

The NI Digital Multimeters Help (June 2009) is a great resource for messages. In searching for "NaN" you'll find a page called "Overrange/Underrange" that states that for the 407x resistance measurements, "Above 105%, NI-DMM returns NaN".

For "OVLD" you're referred to the "DMM Soft Front Panel" page with the following note: "If the front panel displays OVLD, an overrange condition has occurred. If the front panel displays UNDRNG, an underrange condition has occurred."

I hope that helps!
