PXI-4060 not found after driver update

I have a PXI-1042 with a PXI-8184 controller and a PXI-4060 dmm, PXI-4130, PXI-6551, and PXI-2530.  As detailed in my other posting:

I recently uninstalled all NI drivers on my PXI and reinstalled using the latest Driver release from March 2008.  After reinstalling all the drivers all devices are found and are working aside from the DMM.  I installed the NI-DMM drivers when reinstalling, but the PXI-4060 card does not show up in either the Device Manager nor the MAX window.  Previous to the uninstall/reinstall, the device was working and showed up under traditional ni-daq devices.  After the reinstall, the device isn't found and there is no section for traditional ni-daq devices in my MAX window(v4.4.1). I made sure to install the legacy drivers and NI-DMM when reinstalling - are there other components that are necessary? Is there a procedure that needs to be done in order to find the traditional DAQ devices?

I'd hate to go through another cycle of unistall/reinstall to roll back the software to the old version, but that is all I can think of at the moment.  Any help would be appreciated.....Thanks

Hello Mmipxi,

There are a couple things to check.  First off, the NI-DMM driver for the PXI-4060 is based on traditional DAQ.  The NI-DMM driver should install this driver, but double check in the Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) under the My System» Software tab to make sure that you have Traditional NI-DAQ installer.  If not then you'll need to install that.

Assuming that Traditional DAQ is installed here is a KnowledgeBase article you should read over:  Troubleshooting DAQ and GPIB Installation Problems in particular item 2 in this article may apply if you didn't remove the PXI-4060 from the chassis before installing the drivers.

I hope this helps and have a great day!

Cheers,

Brooks
