PXI 4071 DMM measure Voltage after measuring resistance

We have a tester worked not reliable, then don't work at all. I find the reason is that the DMM (PXI -4071)  measure resistance then reset the DMM and measure voltage immediately.

 I add a 10 seconds delay after reset than measure voltage, then it seems work again. So I have two questions:

1. If DMM measure voltage too quick after measure resistance  will upset DMM, but can this damage the DMM? If yes, how can we check the DMM get damaged?
2. How long is the time interval for DMM to reset and configure to resistance measurement?  Is this time interval related to DMM driver version? Our DMM driver version is 2.5.1.

Hello Samuel,

So are you doing this all in LabVIEW? As I understand it, you have a Resistance task that you stop and then immeadiately configure a voltage task?  As there is some switching that has to happen internally, you will have to give it some time.  I have not found an exact time and I think that this might not even be something we spec, but even 0.5 seconds should do it.

Are you getting an error message with your current setup or are you just getting bad readings? Knowing this will help us to answer your other questions. Also,if you have some sample code so that we can better understand what steps you are taking, it always helps.
