PXI-4071 voltage range

Solved!
Go to solution

I need to measure a voltage that is a little bit higher than 10V (in digitizer mode). At the 100V range the noise level is too high.

Is the 10V range limited to exactly 10V? I think I have read that the range is a bit more than 10V due to the way the PXI-4071 is calibrated, but I can't find that document again.

Found the information in the NI Digital Multimeters Help under Devices/NI 4071/Waveform Acquisition/Overranging:

"The NI 4070/4071/4072 sigma-delta modulator has a characteristic overload recovery behavior that you must be aware of when selecting the range of measurement for waveform acquisition. Select the input range carefully, so that the acquired signals, including instantaneous peaks, are within range at all times. For instance, when the NI 4070/4071/4072 is configured for the 10 V input range, the signal must remain within +/- 10.5 VDC (21 VP–P)."
