But i would like to know what exactly this half a digit refer to.
My idea of it is 5 and a half means, it is of five decimal accuracy but i want to know about the half digit.
Can u guide me to some links about multimeter specifications.

I would have to go back to my college days to dig up the specifics (we take notes on papyrus and bury it for safe-keeping back then).
A quick look at the NI catalog (2003) page 784 may help.
