Hi,

To read accelerometer you have to use NI-9234, because this module have signal conditioning for this kind of signal. NI-9237 is prepared to read strain gauge and load cells.

Yes, you can, but it will depend on the sensitivity of the DC accelerometer (mV / g).

As a general rule, the NI-9237 can be used with any transducer that has a maximum differential output of 250mV. If it is a bridge transducer it can be powered by the module, but it cannot consume more than 150mW per module.

Some DC accelerometers are made with an internal bridge using piezoresistive elements and the output values are directly proportional to the excitation voltage applied to it. Since the input resistance is greater than 1000 ohms, you can use 10V of the NI-9237's internal excitation for one channel, if you want to use all four channels, decrease the excitation to 5V.

On the other hand, some MEMS accelerometers require complementary electronic circuits. Normally, the maximum output is around 1V, regardless of the excitation voltage value (5 - 20 V) and needs more than 150mW. The NI-9237 does not support this type of accelerometer.

We also use the NI-9237 with pieresistive pressure sensors that have a maximum of 100mV as output and work very well.
