DSA Microphones

    Hi all..

    I need to develop a LabVIEW application to meassure the sound generated by a  CD mechanisn when movig (load/eject disc)

    I have the board  DSA,. But I could not find the apropiate  microphone or sensor to conect to DS.

   Does any one knows or use before microphonss ,  please let me know where can I get it..

I recommend looking at either G.R.A.S. Sound and Vibration (www.gras.us) or PCB Piezotronics (www.pcb.com) IEPE or constant current microphones. Those types of prepolarized microphones and preamps are compatible with the IEPE current signal conditioning on the NI DSAs. In general, I would look at a 1/2 inch free-field microphone. G.R.A.S. also has a very nice selection guide that can help you futher decide.

      I already took a look to the links you send me.   

      output signal would go directly to the DSA board?  Do I need the preamplifier?

      I will contact  Gras so I can get more information.
