How to set up a synchronized hardware stop trigger acquisition (2 4472 boards)?

I have 2 NI-4472 data acquistion boards and would like to synchronize the boards via the RTSI and use a stop trigger. In the vi attached, if you select 0 pre-trigger scans, the vi works. If the pre-trigger scans >0, then it doesn't. For the slave device, I do not have the option to select digital trigger B (stop trigger) which is what is needed I believe. I can only select digital trigger A or digital trigger A & B. Can someone offer some guidance with this?

The latest version of NI-DAQ allows you to use the NI-4472s with DAQmx which is an easier API to use then the Traditional DAQ that you're currently using. It's also the API in which all new boards are going to be supported.

Here's a link to the latest version of NI-DAQ (includes both Traditional DAQ and DAQmx):

I've attached a VI which shows how to synchronize two NI-4472s and use a reference (stop) trigger with DAQmx.

Hope this helps.

Jack,

Thanks for the answer. I will try DAQmx, will Labview 7.0 work with this? Unfortunately, I couldn't open your vi, it is version 7.1 of Labview and I have 7.0. Would it be possible to re-send in version 7.0? It would be very helpful for me.

I've attached a LV 7.0 version of the example for you.

If it prompts you to find a subVI, it is in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\examples\DAQmx\_Utility

Good luck,
