Order Tracking - Bandwidth Parameter

Hello,

I try to setup measure a synchronous vibration using the order tracking module that comes in sound in vibration toolkit.

On Order Tracking Express VI (and not only) I saw that it is an input called Bandwidth (order) that can take values from 0.01 and 1.

Is there anybody than can explain me what exactly is this parameter and how is influencing my order extraction by changing it?

Hi Alex @ IE,

The parameter in question allows you to control how much bandwidth around your Order to Track.  A setting of 1 would be a -0.5 to +0.5 around your Order to Track.

So I guess that the value is a "percentage" of the actual order and not a absolute value. 

For example a value of 1 for the 2nd order it will set the bandwidth from 1 to 3 order, correct ?

Hi Alex,

Here is an equation that helps explain things:

 

This equation can be found in this KB.

So basically, the bandwidth is just a multipler to narrow the window to track.   Good Luck!
