Understanding how to use increase the number of points with 4452

I have got the PCI-4452, I have been tring to increase the number of points the card aquires. It seems to stay on 2048. I do not understanding how the frequencyspan, lines, window, thing works. I have the manual but it does not explai how it works. Does anyone know how this works and explain to me how can i increase the number of points. And the relation of number of points and samplig frequency.
