Camera not working

I think I'm doing something simple wrong. I was trying to get the FRC camera working with my laptop. I can plug it in and run the the "setup axis camera" utility, it says it was successful. It says it was successful. However, using the NI "Vision Assistant 8.6" application I can't get a picture up. The network icon in the tray say's there is little or no connectivity with the camera. The ethernet light (yellow light) on the back of the camera flickers, there is a green light around the lens of the camera. I set up a static IP address of 192.168.0.3. What am I doing wrong

I loaded this years LabVIEW on my Laptop, I loaded the update off the USB drive. I fixed the dll problem.

Also, what is the IP address of the camera?

Hello Joe,

I believe that your issue will be solved when we are able to get the network icon to say connected as opposed to little or no connectivity.

The ip address of the camera is 192.168.0.90.  I was able to get a connection to the camera by setting my static ip address of the computer to 192.168.0.3 (just as you did) and then set the Subnet Mask to 255.0.0.0 (this just means that you will be able to connect to anything else in the network that has an ip address of 192.x.x.x).

If you still are seeing the limited or no connectivity I would suggest that you double check your firewalls to make sure you are not blocking the connection.  Also, make sure that you are connecting with the orange crossover cable.

It is of course still possible that there could be something else going on here but using the same steps you used and with the configuration above I was able to connect to my camera and get images back.  Please let me know once you have double checked the network configuration settings.

thanks for this posting "flurry". My students were getting rather frustrated with the camera not working!

I asked them if they RTFreakin'M? Deer in the headlights of course!

I'm glad it was helpful. Anytime you have a problem with NI stuff, you should post it. Because, either someone else has ran into it and fixed it or NI Poeple look over the message boards regularly (some say they look over them to much). I've always been impressed with the level and quality of help NI (and it's community) gives.
