Hi,
I probably must have missed something in the Labview installation but...
The dialog box for the "Create New FRC Robot Project" does not display the radio buttons for the selection of the advanced or basic robot framework.(see below)
I downloaded the latest FRC update but when the installation process ran it simply confirmed the software is up to date.
Please let me know if you have any thorughts..
Regards,
Roger

That shows that the update did not get installed. I just tried reinstalling the update, and it went very quickly, but never said anything about the software already being already up to date.
Hopefully one of the NI guys will be able to get to the bottom of this. Here are some questions that might make it easier.
Did you install LabVIEW to the default location? Do you have another version of LabVIEW also installed? What version of windows are you using? Did you install LabVIEW from the DVDs that came in the control system kit?

Hi,
Thanks for your suggestions... I'll try running the update again and see what happens.
Best Regards

Roger,
Sciencewiz is correct. The Basic and Advanced projects are only available after you have installed the FRCLabVIEWUpdate.zip. Please let us know if you have any issues after installing the update.
Cheers,

I have the same problem. I ran the update, but still do not have basic and advanced buttons. I installed to...
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.5
...which I believe is the default.
Here are a couple of pieces of info that may or may not be important. This install was done on top of a demo copy of LabView 8.6. LabView correctly reports that the currently installed version is 8.5.1f5 and the about for the competition software shows Pre-Final Software Update 2.0.
Thanks in advance for any help.

adamzg,
Do you still have LabVIEW 8.6 installed on your system? I am assuming you have installed LabVIEW 8.5.1 from the FIRST Competition software DVD, but I want to check and make sure. Have you experienced any other issues with LabVIEW?

I don't believe the installer will allow 2 labview versions at the same time, I seem to remember the installer telling me it would uninstall 8.6. At any rate, when I go to control panel and looked at installed programs it shows me National Instruments is installed, not a particular NI product. I looked over the LabView installation directory and there are a few stray files from 8.6 - LabVIEW.ini, an empty user.lib folder and a help folder that contains only lvhelp.chw. The 8.6 folder is a peer to the 8.5 folder, both of which sit in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\
I'm thinking I might have to uninstall everything and start over with the DVDs supplied in the kit. Sad because I don't have access to the disks until this Friday and it takes a lonnnnng time to install everything and I may end up right back here.

You can have two versions of LabVIEW installed at the same time on the same system. The LabVIEW FRC package installer does not uninstall LabVIEW 8.6 before installing LabVIEW 8.5.1.
The National Instruments Software listing in Add of Remove Programs Control Panel is expected. If you click on the change/remove button a dialog Window will pop up listing each piece of NI software installed on you computer. I would recommend attempting to repair the item NI FIRST Robotics Competition Features before you uninstall and reinstall all NI software on your system. I have highlighted this in the attached screen shot.

Thanks BLAQmx,
I must have uninstalled 8.6 on my own at some point then. At any rate, the repair installation did the trick. You've spared me from a full reinstall. Very much apprectiated
