FRC Labview Missing CAN Jaguar API

I have Labview 8.6.1 installed along with the "FRC 2010 LabVIEW Update 2.1" update so I can create FRC projects. However, I am missing the CAN Jaguar APIs and cannot implement CAN bus:

Am I missing an update or is there a CAN Jaguar update I need to install?

Hey William,

I believe with the LabVIEW Update 2.1 for 2010 you should be able to get to the CAN motor control.  Is there a reason you are using the 2010 FRC stuff instead of last years 2011?  The updates for 2011 can be found here:http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2261/lang/en

Yes there is a reason I was using the 2010 update... cause I didn't know there was a 2011 update haha. US FIRST's website didn't provide a link or hint that there was a 2011 update. Wish it would have. Now that I have loaded the update, there's CAN. Thanks a lot!

Hi William,

I'm glad to see using the FRC 2011 updates did the trick for you. I also want to point out that LabVIEW FRC 2012 will be released in less than two weeks at kickoff on January 7th. Once that happens, LabVIEW FRC 2011 will no longer be officially supported (or usable in competition). Using 2011 right now is fine for training and experimenting's sake, but I don't want you to lose any actual development efforts.

Thanks Andy and Kevin,

You hit the nail on the head with training and experimenting which is what I'm doing. I'm waiting for the 2012 update to use the new FRC-cRIOII as well but for now, this will do just fine.

Will
