How to use NI 8.6 examples in FRC LV?

In looking around the NI Communities, most, if not all examples are in LV 8.6, which will not open in the FRC version of LV.  Is there some way around this to look at these newly-posted vi's?  The latest,

Joystick to Tank Drive Motor Control

http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-5853

is in version 8.6 and thus inaccessible.

If you have a copy of LabVIEW 8.6 you can open the VI in 8.6 and then use File»Save for Previous... and save the VI for LabVIEW 8.5.  If you don't have LabVIEW 8.6 I recommend posting a comment at the bottom of the posted example asking for an 8.5 version.  The engineer who created this example should be able to do this without too much difficulty.
