No robot status light on digital sidecar

Hi Everyone,

Our team is having a serious problem.  our RSL is not lighting up at all.  We have ran through the benchtop test, and had everything working wirelessly.  We have all the latest Labview updates and have successfully deployed the default code.  We have the most recent DS update. When we put our hardware into our robot however we noticed our PWM's aren't getting a signal.  After doing some research I realized that our digital side car didn't have the robot status light illuminated at all.  We switched it out with the other one in the kit, but we are having the same results.  Is something wrong with our Crio??  We are starting to get nervous!

Also - All the power lights on the board are solid green, and we have the shielded cable running to slot 4 on the cRio

Hello, from the information listed it looks like you have everything configured properly in the hardware.  At this point there could be a few reasons why this light isn't blinking.  Either there is a problem with the hardware (the cable, the module, or the cRIO) or with the software.  My suggestion would be to first reimage the cRIO and see if this resolves the issue.  If not, I would move on to troubleshooting the hardware.

Tonight I switched the CRIO modules, swapped out the cable, re-imaged the CRio, and we are still having this problem.  Even with the base CRio image we get nothing.  I also tested it by communicating through a patch cord rather than the wireless.  We have version 11 of the CRio firmware and the latest DS update.  Still not sure whats going on.

Thank you for your input!

Does the Digital Side Car work in the other slot in the cRIO (slot 6)?  If not do you get the exact same behavior or is something different happening?  Are the analog modules working properly?  One other thing you could try that has solved similar issues in the past is to download a new image from a different computer and try reimaging it on that computer instead.  Sometimes the image does not get downloaded correctly and trying a different computer will sometimes yield different results.
