We are having lots of trouble with the NXT communicating with the computer via a bluetooth or USB port. We cannot get the bluetooth up, we cannot get the FCS to work, etc. This a repeat issue. The laptop we have is a Vista O/S, Dell Inspiron 1501 series. And we have tried other bricks. There is something simple not written down that we are not doing because NI does not write everything down in their instructions. That is very frustrating. When we can get the Bluetooth up, the NXT says the line is busy. But, the end results we cannot get the link to work. Since we cannot get the link to work, we cannot download the programs. Please send us examples of what next.
What do we do?

Update for teams with same problems; the team was running the LabView VI's on a laptop with Vista O/S and AVG and AVAST virus software. We had to delete AVG and AVAST from the laptop, disable Defender, move the dongle to another USB port, and delete then reload the bluetooth in the control panel. Then when the laptop rebooted, it rebooted with a bluetooth enumerator that the FTC provided dongle would work with. Then the laptop began communicating with the brick.
Hopefully other teams find this useful. This event was painful and frustating, but the team worked through it with gracious professionalism.
Thanks,
