Update: This discussion applies to Issues from the 2010 FTC season and is no longer relevant for current FTC competition software.
Use the serial number on the FTC packaging to activate LabVIEW for LEGO MINDSTORMS, if you have any activation issue create a new post.
We're having problems activating our Labview 2009. We have a big pink sticker on our Labview CD case telling us which serial number to use, but when we use it, it doesn't work ("invalid"...). What should we try next?

You should call your local service representative. You can use ni.com to find out who that is.

Can you post a screenshot of your NI License manager? This will help me determine if any part of LabVIEW was successfully activated.
Start menu»All Programs»National Instruments»NI License Manager
Please expand as many of the twisties as possible before taking the screen shot.

I am having a similar problem with activation. It doesn't complain about my serial number for LabView Development System, but it won't let me activate Application Builder. It also doesn't let me activate just LabView Development System. Do I need Application Builder? Am I supposed to have a separate serial number? Was I not supposed to install that component?

You do not need Application Builder for FTC. The serial number that ships with your software does not include a license for Application Builder. When you are prompted to Activate when you launch LV, check the box to prevent the dialog from coming up again.

I've consolidated installation and activation instructions into the following document: Installing and Upgrading LabVIEW 2009 and the FTC Toolkit
