SMAR Devices with NI-FBUS 3.2 and H1/HSE

We have a test FF network which includes two SMAR devices (an FI302 and a IF302).  On our laptop system running NI-FBUS 3.1 with the PCMCIA adapter, we have no problem configuring the SMAR devices.  With the new Ethernet H1/HSE linking device running NI-FBUS 3.2, I have had no success connecting to the SMAR devices.

The NI-FBUS 3.1 (laptop) and NI-FBUS 3.2 (PC desktop) setups have the same exact DD libraries. The SMAR DDs should not be a problem unless NI-FBUS 3.2 needs a different CFF, FFO and SYM file format.

Basically Version 3.2 with the H1/HSE Linking Device appears to be unusable.

I suggest you to reset the network parameters in NI-BUS Configurator.
1. Disconnect all the FF devices from the HSE/H1 linking device;
2. Make sure that both the corresponding Enet and HSE/LD interfaces are already added with the Interface Configuration Utility or Add Interface Wizard;
3. Run NI-FBUS Configurator;
4. In the Configuration Tree, locate the link (a port of the linking device) that will connect the FF devices later; open it's Network Parameters window and follow the attached picture to reset the parameters;
5. After the resetting, wait for 1 minute;
6. Connect the devices to the linking device.
