Upgrade NI-FBUS 3.2 and NI-Configurator 3.1

Is it possible to upgrade my NI-FBUS Communications Manager version 3.2 to Version 3.2.1 and also use NI-FBUS Configurator Version 3.1?

According to the install notes for NI-FBUS software Version 3.2.1 I must use Configurator Verison 3.2. Is NI forcing me to buy a new configurator to upgrade my Communications manager?

NI-FBUS Communications Manager and NI-FBUS Configurator should be the same version, otherwise there will be abnormal behaviours.

Well my company was sold NI-FBUS Comm Manager 3.2 and was not told that we must buy NI-FBUS Confgiurator in order to get minor updates and bug fixes.
What abnormalities would we be looking at and is it possible for me to install the update for Comm Manager and still use our Configurator?

NI-FBUS 3.2.1 is a free upgrade to NI-FBUS 3.2.

You can upgrade your Communications Manager/Configurator 3.2 to 3.2.1.

Please download NI-FBUS 3.2 (include CM and Configurator) from NI website, https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/software-products/download.ni-fbus-configurator-software.htm...

The version of Configurator and Communications Manager should be the same. So you can not use Configurator 3.1 with Communications Manager 3.2.1

I wasn't very clear in the last two questions.
What I'm asking is: Can I use tour Configurator 3.1 license to activate Configurator 3.2.1?
We are currently using Configurator 3.1 with CM 3.2 because we were not sold Configurator 3.2 with our NI-FBUS ver 3.2 cards. (Unbeknownst to us they are seperate licenses and we thought they were one license and then later told we would have to pay $1700 for each seat for Configurator 3.2.) We were told we could use our previous license of Configurator 3.1 with Version 3.2 by our sales rep.

I am sorry that maybe our sales rep made some mistake. Configurator 3.1 and Configurator 3.2 use separate license. 

You do not need pay $1700 for a new Configurator 3.2. NI provides the upgrade package of Configurator 3.2 for customers that have already purchased earlier version. The price is much lower.
