Refresh problems

I'm using the National Instruments Fieldbus configurator. 2.11 and 3.21 software for training purposes.

One of my assignments is to configure the transmitter for a thermocouple and a Pt100 sensor.
The device is a PR electronics 5350A temperature transmitter

The problem i have is that some parameters (2,3,4 wire and cold junction compensation) are not refreshed well.
So in case of switching from Pt100 to Thermocouple it is not possible to set the internal cold junction parameter.

The other way around I have the same problem and i could not see the 2,3,4 wire parameter.

PRelectronics have also seen this problems but can not do anything to help it out.

Their advise is: Use Ni-configurator 2.3.6 and this problem will not occur.

I have reproduced your problem. I'm not sure why the parameter is not available in Configurator, but there is a workaround for you. Try to view and edit it in Dialog Utility.

We will try to figure out whether it's the Configurator's issue.

I'm still waiting for the solution of the refresh problem with the PR-electronics 5350A temperature transmitter, the people of PR informed me that there is a patch or new relaise of Fieldbus configurator availible, if so please contact me, I could test it for you in my next certified FF training in two weeks.

Which version of Configurator are you using now?

If you are using Configurator 3.2.1, I am sorry that this is the latest version. The new version of NI-FBUS software is in the development phase and the release data has not been fixed.

We use the latest version of  the configurator  3.2.1 , but we still see a lot of issue’s while using the software in our training. I like to invite one of you to sit in a certified FF training for free to observe this. Maybe this is a good opportunity for testing the new release of the configurator.With friendly regards,
