Hi,

it seems that the NI Community site https://decibel.ni.com/content/index.jspa has some difficulties in deciding which language code to use - in my case it is an interesting mixture between German and English - not a real problem, but neither very professional Smiley Wink

I get really angry at NI's website almost every day. When creating a profil on ni.com  there is a "language" setting, don't spend too much time setting it, it is mostly ignored. ni.com will take your current geographical position to impose you the language it thinks is relevant ; if you travel abroad or live/work in a country that has more than 1 official language you're screwed if you don't speak the language NI has decided to assign to that country.

The web folks told me to set my browser to not publish my position... I think my answer to that was not far from rude.

Rant aside, it's not all clear to me the links between my (at least) 3 ni profiles, forums, community and ni.com. Anyone has a clue?

I mentioned the multiple profiles needed to register for everything at NIWeek in a session where I had an opportunity to provide feedback some of the relevant persons at NI.  Some of the things brought to their attention seemed to be surprises to them. At least they did make an effort to listen to frequent users.

The impression I got was that they really want to make the website experience better for the user, but that it might take some months or longer to see significant changes.

If they're trying to "merge" the different accounts I understand that it's going to take some time, but the language thing is a major annoyance and a clear inconsistent behavior, now I'm not too sure if that part (ni.com profile) is something that NI web people have control over or if it's done by another company.

They tried that.  It broke everything.

considering community, forums and ni.com are quite different (different technologies behind) I'm not suprised it's a tough job 😮

Thanks for the feedback.

I've forwarded the issue reported by the original poster to the appropriate member of our NI Community team. They should be in touch with you.

To address the issue with the 3 accounts... they are all ultimately tied together by your ni.com account, but yes the relationships are a bit complex. We are currently working on a project to better tie these accounts together!

Hang tight, I will have more updates soon!
