I'll bet on tst..

she's got b... euh.. what it takes to move up quickly..
😄

As she says./. she's flying..

"the gender -she- is referring to a spaceship or other craft use for flight, and does not refer to the physical attributes of the person or entity bearing that title"..

To all you distinguished (???) gentlemen out there I would just like to say this:

It's the international woman's day, why don't you take your wives out to a nice dinner and stop wasting time in this forum, trying to guess what (who) stands behind those 3 letters (anyone really determined should have no problem with that).

Ben, if I were you I'd watch out for Johnner. He's probably the one who'll overtake you in the end (or possibly ian.f). To (mis)quote JPD: I think we should stop wasting precious bytes on these frivolous matters. I would much rather if people quoted some amusing gems by scientists and writers to cheer up the spirits of the masses (I am lying, of course. I like being the center of attention. I just don't want my parmachai to find out).

The normally wise speculations of tst are off the mark this time. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be enough LabVIEW work where I live to support my dream career of LabVIEW consultant by day/philosopher by night, so you can anticipate a sharp dropoff from me when I grudgingly take another job sometime soon.

If I'm lucky, maybe I can create a Knutson-style situation where I am so phenomenally good that I can accomplish all of my work for the month in a day's time. Then I can turn back to the task of overtaking Ben and ian.f...

Here is a provisionnal improved list, presented as beta version :
Added features : distinction between NI and Non-NI members (color of the 3 box column, and last column "NI=1"), and the boards of interest of each member.
NI employees amount to 39 % (144/372) of the Enthusiats. I believed the figure was much lower...
The board of interest correspond to the boards mainly adressed during the last 90 contributions.

Any comments ?

Tst,

What with equality between man and woman and all, I'd be happy for my wife taking ME out for a meal on international woman's day to celebtrate her independence.

By the way, is there even an international man's day (And the superbowl final doesn't count 😉 Even if it's only because it's not really international)

Shane.

There is nothing wrong with a woman posting more answers than Ben 😄

I like the changes CC.

I think that you should keep them in for all new updates.

Your updates do make for some interesting number chunching exercises.

Some where along the line I think you were looking for ways to track and acknowledge contributions. The following summarizes some of the ideas that have crossed my mind.

1) Total # of stars (avg rating X number of ratings

2) Stars per contribution.

3) Revise star averaging algorithm such that no rating counts as a "zero star" rating. (this would hurt me bad, but would definatly make a one star rating a plus and not a negative.)

4) Fraction of Dennis (contributors total / Dennis total)

5) Make number of contributions a 12 bit field and than add an "over-flow" counter for Dennis.

6) Summarize Blue bars vs Gold bars. This could foster good competition between the "users of a thing" and the "makers of a thing" (see Plato's Republic on this topic). This could be two parts, number of answers, and number of stars for each "Team" (Hmmm, Gold Team vs Blue Team).

7) Number of stars collected. I do not know if you have the functionality in place to do this. The I dea is this. If I see a question that I do not know the answer to, or is of interest, I will assign a star rating based how interesting or how hard it appears to be. Any contributor that answers that Q would pick up those stars as a reward for taking on the challenge.

How do the rest of you feel about these ideas?

That would be wonderful!

I could say to THEM the same thing I tell my wife when she betters me, "You are just a better man than me." (That is Man generic).

By the way, has anyone noticed Wendy L?

If tst does not do it, and she (arrogant assumption based on name and social norms that exist within the US) stay on track, she will be the person that pushes me down into thrid place and makes Dennis start looking over HIS shoulder.
