I looked into this previously and from what I could tell the behavior you describe is part of the RSS specification. I subscribed to feeds at a number of different sites and they all behaved the same way ours did.
One thing I did not try is using different readers. I only have tried Google Reader so maybe some other readers behave differently? I would be interested if you have examples of another reader or other sites with RSS feeds that behave more the way that you like.
Thanks for the suggestion! Laura Web Support & Operations National Instruments
I haven't downloaded a tracker RSS feed, but the homepage is one of the fiels of the RSS scheme. This can be set seperatly for every RSS feed, and would be welcome. For my own tracker this is very usefull, I hit 'homepage' and see in a glimpse if anyone has responded to a thread I have written in.
I think I understand now - the link "TonP Tracker" goes to http://forums.ni.com/ni/tracker no matter what RSS reader you are using or if you are just using the browser's built in functionality. It should actually go the user's tracker (http://forums.ni.com/ni/tracker?user.id=44753 for example).
I do maintain a list of feature suggestions and bugs that I report. If the bug is a showstopper Lithium will fix it soon after I report it. If it is a lower priority, Lithium files it as a bug report, just like NI files CARs for LabVIEW. They then try to work these bug fixes and feature requests into their upgrades. Of course they can't get everything in so I try to review during each upgrade which things that we reported have been fixed and then report it to the community like this post.
