Forum search function does not appear to work on IE 8/Windows XP

Odd. Today, I can't seem to get any results when using the search function on my Windows XP/IE 8 machine. Works fine in Chrome. Can anybody reproduce this? And thne fix it :-)?

It's doing it again... When I concluded that it was "fixed", I did not notice that I had been using one entry of the suggested answers' list. If I do not choose any of those and instead press on the Search button, nothing happens.

Again things work fine in Chrome of Firefox. It just happen because of the webmail interface we are using here, which has issues with other browsers, I am stuck with IE 8 (later versions are not supported in XP).
