How do I delete a message I posted?

Hi,
I've inadvertently posted an incomplete message on the forum & can’t find how to delete!
Please explain.
Thanks,
Paul Towle.

Dasylab User -

Moderators have access to delete messages in the forums. If you let me know which message to delete, I will be happy to take care of it for you.

Thanks -

How about deleting postings that have bad ratings... 😉

I would love to help you out, but I'm not clear on exactly what you want deleted. Is it your code you are worried about having public in the forum that you want deleted? Is there a particular post or part of a post you want deleted?

Thanks,

Paul,

The easiest way to bring a particular post to the attention of a moderator is the following:

(1) In the upper right corner of the post, select "Options...Report abuse to moderator".
(This option is poorly worded as I have mentioned before. It should be renamed to e.g. "bring to the attention of a moderator", "report to moderator" or similar. Reporting abuse is too narrow a function and the wording has negative connotations).

(2) Now you'll get a window where you can type a message outlining your concerns. Simply state that you want the atttachment deleted, the post deleted, etc. or whatever.

It will be immediately obvious to the moderator which post you are talking about and hopefully it will go to the moderator on duty to be handled accordingly.

I have recently tried this when I accidentally double-posted and it worked just fine! 🙂

(Molly, of course I don't know exactly how things are handled behind the scenes on your side. Please let us know if you think that such issues should not be handled via the reporting link)

As usual, you are exactly right. Those notifications come straight to me, and I am happy to help out any way I can. You are also correct that they don't have to be used just to report abuse, but that they are a great way to bring things to our attention.

Thanks,
