One thing I can add to the language issue is that it is not my account -- one pc I use has the problem, the others do not.

To everyone experiencing the language issue:

Do you see this every time you post? (Or at least post from the same computer) Or is it intermittent?

Do you ever visit the Spanish board?

If you clear your cache, does the issue go away? What about if you refresh the page?

Any other information you have about when the page renders this way is appreciated.

Thanks,

Laura

To your queries, Laura:

No. I've seen it only twice so far.

Do you ever visit the Spanish board?

Not on a regular basis. I have in the past when I clicked on a link that was in a message that happened to be to the Spanish forum, but I didn't know it was to there.

I have not seen it since I posted my message about it, and I just cleared my cache today to deal with the messed up layout on the user profile pages. If I see it again I will definitely inform you.

One thing that may provide information: To someone who sees it, view the page source and save it to text file and upload it. It may provide clues as to what might be happening.

The huge image inserted by Ben above makes my browser (IE8) nearly unresponsive. scrolling takes literally forever.

Yes christian am also facing the same. Am also using IE8 RC1. It really took me about 3 minutes to scroll and read all the ten posts in that page. uhhhh Smiley Mad

You're correct.  That image (or something else about the page that image is on) causes it to scroll slow;y.  I don't have IE8 RC1 but the IE8 on Windows Vista Home Premium that MS downloaded as part of a Windows update a few weeks ago.  It says 8.0.6001.

One more comment about IE8.  I use the code capture tool and was able to paste the image link directly into the attachments fill in box in IE7.  On IE7 at work, it still works fine.  However in IE8 at home, the paste command is greyed out and Ctrl-V doesn't work.  I have to hit the browse button, wait for the file dialog to come up, then I am able to paste into the filename box there.  Perhaps this is a forum problem, but I tend to lean to some major security "improvement" that MS must have shoved into IE8.  Good news is that IE8 doesn't crash on my home PC like IE7 used to do where suddenly all IE windows would say (Not Responding).

Hi Everyone,

The image gallery feature is now turned on!

Thanks,

Laura

Also, I shrunk the image on the previous page of this thread so hopefully it won't take so long to scroll through the posts.

Thanks,

Laura

It is still quite sluggish in IE8. No problems (even before) on a much slower computer and IE7.

Seems the font in the "image title" box is clipped.

altenbach: deleting an image will make it disappear from your posts; uploading files with the same name does not break anything; you cannot click on an image and have it open in a new window; I'm not sure if you can link to your image gallery outside of the forums, the intention is to use it for images you embed in your posts and avatars; the initial limit on gallery size is 1000 images and it can be increased if needed; the gallery does not have much organization

OK, 1000 is probably not enough. I estimate that I will run out in less than a year. OTOH, the curret UI will not work well with that many pictures anyway.

I would prefer an additional mode where I can upload and insert an image but it does not get added to my gallery, but to some generic shared gallery and directly inserted in the post (e.g. as before).
