Hi Laura,

Hey!  The post numbers are backwards!!!  😄

I didn't notice until you mentionned it, Ben..  Actually, it's all relative.  Looks fine to me 🙂

We are talking posting speed not light speed.

At these speeds post numbers are absolute and not relative.

Don't know if this has been brought up in this thread, as I might have missed it in the 7 pages so far. I like the paging system that's now in place to view subscribed threads, as I used it often to find threads I participated in that had responses. However, is there a way to change how many rows are displayed? Currently it always shows a scroll bar within that section and it's frankly annoying especially when the scrolling switches automatically back and forth between scrolling the table and scrolling the whole page. I couldn't find any setting for this.

Ben,

Don't know if you knew this, but your signature is messed up when looking at the forums.

This only happens when you're signed in, and it appears it has to do with the "Rate this message" portion being displayed at that time. If you look at it when you're not signed in, it looks fine:

Not sure if this is a browser issue, or a problem with the forum software.

Well my posting sequence (in that thread) no longer starts at post #7 but now its #9 since it is 9 from the end.

Yes I view pages with newest on top.

Post #'s are the number in the thread not the index of the frame they are displaying.

Ben

Hi Ben,

I think I understand now, but let's verify:

You view threads so that "newest to oldest" messages are displayed.  Previously, the top/newest message in a thread of 5 replies would have been "Message 5 of 5".  Now, the top/newest message in a thread of 5 replies is "Message 1 of 5".  This behavior did not change for those who view threads "oldest to newest" because the first message has always been "Message 1 of X".

This causes a problem because the reply numbers are different for those two different views, so by quoting a reply number you can't be sure that you are talking about the same reply.  (Also, that this method had been used in the past to point out a particular reply).

Thanks,
Laura

Hi there,

Is it a coincidence that since this upgrade I'm getting an email notification of every new post, rather than a weekly email?

Anyone else seeing this?

Mike

Hi Mike,

No, it is not a coincidence.  Smiley Sad  I reported this problem yesterday.  It is a major issue, so I will post when it is fixed.  In the meantime, you can remove whatever board subscriptions you are using and re-enable them once the bug is fixed.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Laura

Yes that describes the bug quite well.

The tracker shows all my posts and by definition these are all in thread that contain my posts.

For some reason, some of the icons don't have the little triangle that indicates "threads I've replied to".

Here's an updated bug list
  1. Messages not marked as read in IE6 and Safari when using Back button - reported to Lithium, they are looking into it
  2. "Sort Threads by Newest Message" turns itself back on
  3. Third attachment text is cut off in CC's posts (see image below) - this also seems to affect Ben's signature.  "Rate this message" is probably the culprit.
  4. Reply numbers have changed.  The new method causes the reply numbers to not match up between viewing messages "Newest to Oldest" and "Oldest to Newest".
  5. Ratings:
    1. Not showing for threads at the board view
    2. Can rate posts again after a few minutes
    3. Stars don't show immediately after rating
  6. After replying, the browser returns to the message that was replied to, not the reply itself
  7. Floated Board order changed, with no apparent reason for the new order
  8. User's online status and last connection date is now missing
  9. Options button is white, can we change it back to black?
  10. Post page still loads slow (I don't think this is linked to the upgrade, but it is something Lithium is working on)
  11. Error message when clicking back before image is fully loaded.
  12. Scrolling on subscriptions page - is there a way to change the number of items displayed?  The new tab layout makes this awkward.
  13. Tracker - the "Threads I've Replied to" icon is not consistent.
  14. Subscription emails - Weekly Digest is not working as expected for Board subscriptions.
Thank,
Laura

Hi Laura,

That list looks correct to me, so now its time for us to vote for the most severe issue!

I vote for #1 "Messages not marked as read... " since it affects the productivity of contributors who account for more than 23K postings (Dennis, tst and myself).
