Naming the Next Rank

Well I think we keep the separation between PAV (Proven Active Veteran) and PEV (Proven Enthusiastic Veteran).

Additionally I agree with Ben about the new ranks Knight of NI at 3K and different orders with each additional K.

That there are some members with over 7K is a fact and can not be changed. It does not matter when a discussion about the ranks is going on - we will always have people which already are far beyond these ranks ;).

Hiiii,

               TiTou is right about the bar, there must be the color difference in the bars, but as I suggest, there must be the different colors for different levels, mean if its a 'Knights of NI', it should have a red color and the one who is more than the higher rates or at the lower rates should have a different color (e.g. green). in the bar.

Along with the suggestion of "knight of NI" came the idea to drop the 3 color bars, this solves the problem.

Remain the fact that if a level is created between PAV and PEV their will be a color issue. I don't think a 1k level is necessary... I don't mind having a huge gap between PAV and PEV... it make PEV more "credible".

Also having to many too many ranks would more confuse people tham anything else. and Dennis' rank would change every 5 months

I like the "knight of NI" idea, for me it should start at 4k and increment every 2k... Making it hard to reach would make us sure that people are not over-posting for the fun of getting the next rank.

Hey TiTou,

             I think instead of starting at 4k, it should be started on 1K or rather at least 2K, cos while reaching the level of 4K, one could be the much stronger, rather than the initital stage of 'Knights of NI', and upto 1000, if u count the individual as beginner, then you are wrong, cos at coming to 1000 posts, one could have atleast done 4-5 projects in the LabVIEW, and i dont think after doing 4-5 projects, one can be counted as beginner.

                  That is what i am saying that Titou is talking about giving a 'Knights of NI' status at 4K, instead i am suggesting to give that level at 2K or 1K, because if somebody posts the 1K posts, then he couldnt be the beginner... and at 4K, he could be at many higher level than 'Knights of NI'.

          I think now u ll get this.

Obviously you misunderstood what I meant.

If a really bloody beginner asks a lot of questions, his postcount will increase. So you can't compare a member who asks 500 questions (ok, this value's not realistic) with a member who answered 500 questions.

I fully agree with titou and Ben that the new ranks are available from 3K onwards. I don't want to blame anyone, but there are enough members in here with a lot of posts but still somewhere in between beginner and pre-intermediate. The real LV pros have already crossed the 2K line.

Yes Becktho, I agree with you and think you got my point. Making level hard to reach (4k for instance) make it more credible.
A newbie asking 4k questions... well hope we won't see that happen !

                Though you are right, but those betn 1K and 3K should atleast have atleast good ranking, you cant ignore them, let me say like Devchander, who has really good knowledge but he is at 1K, then what could be his status???

       They atleast should be given a good status, though below Knights of NI, but still some good rating.

But there is a level - at 2K you become a Proven Enthusiastic Veteran. I think that is enough and should not be changed. I'm also quite sure that the other members would it not to be changed, because this system has proved it's worth.

Anyway - this whole thread is about what comes after the PEV and not before.
