Like this?

Yes, thank you!

I actually don't see the missing post. The feedback board currently shows 0 new messages in the main forums page and I haven't marked all as read, so it looks like this doesn't always happen.

I don't read everything on the LV board either, but I do skim the thread list, and marking all as read when I'm done makes it very easy to see exactly which content is new the next time I do it.

I did this again just now. Is anyone still seeing the issue? Lithium Support stated they believe it should be fixed.

Yep, I am still seeing it. I currently see 1 new message from the main page, but there is nothing new in the board.

My magic baseline number had stayed at 2089 for the past week. (S0 2089 much older "new" / unread messages.) It never dropped back to 2088 like it had been doing.
Now it seems to be up to 2090. All new recent stuff has been read and it says I have 2090 unread messages. So perhaps another new message came in before I read it and got moved? I'll see if this becomes my new baseline number.

I don't see it now on the feedback board, but I do see it on the news blog, where it shows a new reply even though there isn't one - http://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-Discussion-Forums-News/bg-p/news
This has happened a few times over the past few days, and every time I go in, see there are no new posts or comments (a really annoying process because you have to check two places and in neither of them it's clear which data is new) and mark as read.

There has been a little bit of activity in the Coming Soon: NI Community Renovations! thread. Yes, that board is annoying because I actually have to scroll through to find the new posts. I wish it had the "Unread Topics" section on the right like all of the other boards.

Yes, that explains it. For some reason (probably just me being a logical guy) I was expecting the latest comments section on the right to either only show unread comments (like what the idea exchange does, which I don't like, but at least works) or to be sorted by latest activity. Looks like it's actually sorted by the post upload time, which makes it even more useless than I realized.
On a brighter (?) note, I now do see one unread phantom post in the feedback board, so balance is restored.

I'm showing 1 phantom unread message on this board now. I wasn't seeing it when you posted about it yesterday though, Lili.
